Lies. Half Truths. Distortions. Partisan Bullshit. Is Sanchez really so stupid he can't see the logic here?
He needs to be told to shut his mouth before he embarrasses CNN any further.

What?!?!?! Not some Marxist Idyllic Republic?!?!
By James Raymond Reese on Nov 4, 2009 | In News, Commentary | Send feedback »
A recent poll Gallup reveals that 700 million people throughout the world would prefer to live somewhere else. It is a clear case for some that the grass is greener on the other side — with hundreds of millions of the world's 6.7 billion people saying they want to permanently relocate to another country.
The poll indicates that people residing in sub-Saharan African countries are the most interested in relocating. About 165 million adults living there said they would move to another country if provided the opportunity.
The polls, conducted by Gallup, took place in 135 countries between 2007 and 2009.
The most desirable place in which to reside, according to poll numbers, is the United States, with about a quarter of the 700 million people polled choosing it as their preferred destination.
Geez, not one of the Obama-loving Marxist idyllic republics that are so "for the people," but the rotten, capitalistic, racist, sexist USA?
How can that be?
Floridians: Do You Still Support Charlie Christ?
By James Raymond Reese on Nov 1, 2009 | In News, Commentary | Send feedback »
Florida Republican Governor Charlie Christ is rapidly turning into a RINO. Watch this clip from one of the MSM's "public affairs" programs and decide if you want this man representing you in congress.
If this turns your stomach, the way it does mine, check out a fellow named Marco Rubio. Rubio, and people like him, are the only way for Americans to regain control of their country.
I Guess Dewie Is Still Waiting on the Governors' Names
By James Raymond Reese on Oct 29, 2009 | In Commentary | 19 feedbacks »
The last 45 of my 66 years I've spent in a commercial fishing town in Alaska I understand Alaska politics but never understood national politics well until this last year. Here's the breaking point: Neither side of the Palin controversy gets it. It's not about persona, style, rhetoric, it's about doing things. Even Palin supporters never mention the things that I'm about to mention here.
1 - Democrats forget when Palin was the Darling of the Democrats, because as soon as Palin took the Governor's office away from a fellow Republican and tough SOB, Frank Murkowski, she tore into the Republican's "Corrupt Bastards Club" (CBC) and sent them packing. Many of them are now residing in State housing and wearing orange jump suits. The Democrats reacted by skipping around the yard, throwing confetti and singing, "la la la la."
Name another governor in this country that has ever done anything similar.
2 - Now with the CBC gone, there were fewer Alaskan politicians to protect the huge, giant oil companies here. So she constructed and enacted a new system of splitting the oil profits called "ACES." Exxon (the biggest corporation in the world) protested and Sarah told them, "don't let the door hit you in the stern on your way out." They stayed, and Alaska residents went from being merely wealthy to being wealthier. Of course, the other huge international oil companies meekly fell in line.
Again, give me the name of any other governor in the country that has done anything similar. Each person that lives in Alaska gets between $1200-$2000 per year for living there. What do Virginia Governors give you? Answer, a closed rest stop. Now try to name anything Obama accomplished while a senator?
3 - The other thing she did when she walked into the governor's office is she got the list of State requests for federal funding for projects, known as "pork." She went through the list, took 85% of them and placed them in the "when-hell-freezes-over" stack. She let locals know that if we need something built, we'll pay for it ourselves. Maybe she figured she could use the money she got from selling the previous governor's jet because it was extravagant. Maybe she could use the money she saved by dismissing the governor's cook (remarking that she could cook for her own family), giving back the State vehicle issued to her, maintaining that she already had a car, and dismissing her State provided security force (never mentioning - I imagine - that she's packing heat herself).
I'm still waiting to hear the names of those other governors.
4 - Now, even with her much-ridiculed "gosh and golly" mannerism, she also managed to put together a totally new approach to getting a natural gas pipeline built which will be the biggest private construction project in the history of North America. No one else could do it, although they tried. If that doesn't impress you, then you're trying too hard to be unimpressed while watching her do things like this while baking up a batch of brownies with her other hand.
5 - For 30 years, Exxon held a lease to do exploratory drilling at a place called Point Thompson. They made excuses the entire time why they couldn't start drilling. In truth they were holding it like an investment. No governor for 30 years could make them get started. This past summer, she told them she was revoking their lease and kicking them out. They protested and threatened court action. She shrugged and reminded them that she knew the way to the court house. Alaska won again.
6 - President Obama wants the nation to be on 25% renewable resources for electricity by 2025. Sarah went to the legislature and submitted her plan for Alaska to be at 50% renewables, also by 2025. We are already at 25%. I can give you more specifics about things done, as opposed to style and persona. Everybody wants to be cool, sound cool, look cool. But that's just a cover-up.
I'm still waiting to hear from liberals the names of other governors who can match what mine has done in two and a half years. I won't be holding my breath.
By the way, she was content to return to Alaska after the national election and go to work, but the haters wouldn't let her. Now these adolescent screechers are obviously not scuba divers. And no one ever told them what happens when you continually jab and pester a 'barracuda'. Without warning, it will spin around and tear your face off. Shoulda known better.
You have just read the truth about Sarah Palin that sends the media, along with the democrat party, into a wild uncontrolled frenzy to discredit her. I guess they are only interested in skirt chasers, dishonesty, immoral people, liars, womanizers, murderers, and bitter ex-presidents' wives or current President and his wife and staff.
So "You go, Girl." I only wish the men in Washington had your guts, determination, honesty, and morals. I rest my case. Only FOOLS listen to the biased media.”

I received the above in an email. It was supposed written by a fellow named Dewie Whetsell, an Alaskan Fisherman and posted on a site discussing the actions of moveon.org against Palin. I do not have a URL so I can post a link. If you can provide that information, please do so.

Obama Destroying Democratic Chances in Virginia
By James Raymond Reese on Oct 28, 2009 | In News, Commentary | Send feedback »

2009 is going to be a very tough year in the political career of Creigh Deeds. It seems he picked the wrong time to be running for Governor of Virginia as a Democrat.
Virginia happens to be one of the states where Barack Obama's star is shining more dimly with each passing day and his Marxist policies are taking Deeds down with him.
At first the White House complained because Deeds seemed to be keeping himself at arm's length from the radicals in Washington. So, Deeds decided to play nice with some of "Chicago's finest" and invited the president to appear with him at a rally in Norfolk yesterday.
Well, how did that work for you, Mr. Deeds?
According to a Rasmussen poll conducted after the rally, Creigh Deeds dropped to 13 points below his Republican opponent. That's a nasty gap to try to fill with the election less than a week away.
To make matters worse, only 24% of Virginians (a figure basically equating to the hard left portion of the Democratic party) say Obama's appearance will make them more likely to vote for Deeds while 39% say it makes them less likely to vote for the Democratic State Senator. Being seen with Obama may be the wrong picture to put into Virginia voters' minds right now.
I don't think I would like Creigh Deed's politics because he throws around words like "progressive" which, frankly scares the shit out of me. I like my freedom and I'd like to still think this is, even remotely, a free country.
I don't personally know Creigh Deeds. But my sister does. She's a county supervisor in Bath County, Virginia where Deeds got his start. And she likes him. I take that at face value.
But, what Gawd-awful bad luck to make your run for the governor's office on the same ticket as one of the two worst presidents in the history of the country.

Retired From...and Still Working For...the School System

OK, Let's Talk About Race in America
By James Raymond Reese on Oct 21, 2009 | In Commentary | Send feedback »
Barack Obama says we need to have a conversation about race in America. Fair enough. But this time, it has to be a two-way conversation. White America needs to be heard from, not just lectured to. This time, the Silent Majority needs to have its convictions, grievances and demands heard. And among them are these:
First, America has been the best country on earth for black folks. It was here that 600,000 black people, brought from Africa in slave ships, grew into a community of 40 million, were introduced to Christian salvation, and reached the greatest levels of freedom and prosperity blacks have ever known. Wright ought to go down on his knees and thank God he is an American.
Second, no people anywhere have done more to lift up blacks than white Americans. Untold trillions have been spent since the '60s on welfare, food stamps, rent supplements, Section 8 housing, Pell grants, student loans, legal services, Medicaid, Earned Income Tax Credits and poverty programs designed to bring the African-American community into the mainstream.
Governments, businesses and colleges have engaged in discrimination against white folks - with affirmative action, contract set-asides and quotas - to advance black applicants over white applicants. Churches, foundations, civic groups, schools and individuals all over America have donated their time and money to support soup kitchens, adult education, day care, retirement and nursing homes for blacks.
We hear the grievances. Where is the gratitude???
Barack talks about new 'ladders of opportunity' for blacks. Let him go to Altoona! And Johnstown. And ask the white kids in Catholic schools how many were visited lately by Ivy League recruiters handing out scholarships for 'deserving' white kids. Is white America really responsible for the fact that the crime and incarceration rates for African-Americans are seven times those of white America? Is it really white America's fault that illegitimacy in the African-American community has hit 70 percent and the black dropout rate from high schools in some cities has reached 50 percent?
Is that the fault of white America or, first and foremost, a failure of the black community itself?
As for racism, its ugliest manifestation is in interracial crime, and especially interracial crimes of violence. Is Barack Obama aware that white criminals choose black victims 3 percent of the time, while black criminals choose white victims 45 percent of the time?
Is Barack Obama aware that black-on-white rapes are 100 times more common than the reverse, that black-on-white robberies were 139 times as common in the first years of this decade as the reverse?
We have all heard ad nauseam from the "Rev." Al Sharpton about Tawana Brawley, the Duke rape case and Jena. And all of them turned out to be hoaxes. But about the epidemic of black assaults on whites that are real, we hear nothing.
Sorry, Barack, some of us have heard it all before, about 40 years and 40 trillion tax dollars ago.
Oh, and one other thing. We are a Christian Nation even if Obama says we are not.

Are Most of Us Becoming "Oath Takers" in Spirit?

Oath Takers are ex-military and police who re-pledge themselves to defend the Constitution, even if it means disobeying orders. If the U.S. government ordered law enforcement agencies to violate Second Amendment rights by disarming the people, Oath Keepers will not obey. "We say if the American people decide it's time for a revolution, we'll fight with you."
"The whole point of Oath Keepers is to stop a dictatorship from ever happening here," says founding father Stewart Rhodes, an ex-Army paratrooper and Yale-trained lawyer. "My focus is on the guys with the guns, because they can't do it without them.

Is It Even Possible For Us To Pay Our "Fair Share?"

Right now, today, without counting any of the unfunded liabilities of our government (which are very real obligations, by the way), our national debt is $12 trillion. There are roughly 100 million American households. So that's a national debt of roughly $120,000 per family. That's more than the average American owes on his mortgage.
Think about what this means in terms of interest payments. Even with interest rates at all-time lows around the world, the U.S. will spend almost $400 billion on interest to service our existing national debt – that's a 3.3% interest rate. Currently, the U.S. takes in roughly $2 trillion in taxes, half of which come from income taxes. So the interest on our debt is already consuming 20% of all tax receipts, or 40% of all income taxes. Even at today's low interest rates!!
It seems obvious to me this money will never be repaid – could never be repaid.

Did you hear Committee chairman Thorbjørn Jagland talking to the press after the announcement? He actually said, "The question we have to ask is, 'Who has done the most in the previous year to enhance peace in the world?' And who has done more than Barack Obama?" Is he serious. If he is, Norway is breeding morons.
One of the best columns I've read on the subject was written by Mitch Albom in the Detroit Free Press. Mitch was one of my favorite writers when I was in the Detroit area. This column just convinces me I was correct in that opinion.

Discontent among Americans is at a level not seen in many years. In fact, the last time we had this level of mistrust of the federal government, we had another president from Illinois. In both cases, the extreme wings of the political parties dominated the Congress.

"Community Organizations" to be Health Care Enforcers
By James Raymond Reese on Oct 6, 2009 | In News, Commentary | Send feedback »
President Obama has signed into law a measure requiring all our Medical records be sent to the Federal Government will be enforced by "COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS."
The links below lead to pdf versions of the Agreement (1) and the application (2) for any non-profit "community organization" who wishes to be the enforcer of the federal government to bully everyone of us into complying with this law.
Agreement
Application to Enforce
These Grants will be awarded beginning in November 2009 and will be complete by December 15, 2009. The offices will be fully operational by Dec. 2010.
Call your representatives in both the Federal Government and your State. Your state representatives are the ONLY way to stop these regional offices from entering your state.
Protection language MUST be written to deny this Federal Mandate. If it is not stopped, the law requires that once these offices are set up with Federal Tax money, it will be transferred to EACH STATE to maintain and fund.
The state MUST deny the Grants THIS MONTH - prior to the Federal Government awarding the Grant. Otherwise, any design, construction, leases, or purchases of property to house these regional offices and payroll to staff them will be the responsibility of the State and the people. HOWEVER, they will NOT be government employees and will NOT be subjected to the normal employment process of government employees.
They will be whom ever the community organization hires to bully our Health Care Industry.
Please help stop this NOW! Make calls to your representatives AND the media, IF they will listen. (Fat chance!)
Times of London: "A Stunning Humiliation"

The Times of London sums it all up in one paragraph. "Mr Obama was greeted — as usual — like a rock star by the IOC delegates in Copenhagen — then humiliated by them. Perception is reality. A narrow defeat for Chicago would have been acceptable — but the sheer scale of the defeat was a bombshell, and is a major blow for Mr Obama at a time when questions are being asked about his style of governance."
