The Olympic Committee has ordered a Chicago TV station not to re-play their story about a web site promoting the games be "awarded" to Brazil. President Obama is leading the in-person push for the 2016 Olympics to be held in Chicago.
The word "awarded" in the previous paragraph is in quotes because a growing number of people feel the games are no longer worth the cost.
Was the TV station's story so negative as to earn the wrath of the Olympic Committee? You can judge for yourself. Click on the link above to watch the report.

I was in Cook County, Illinois last week. For the love of God I can't imagine why the Olympics would want to be there in the first place. The county has legitimately earned its reputation.

It was Democrats who supported the 1857 Dred Scott SCOTUS decision declaring slaves to be property. The judges who voted in favor of that decision were all pro-slavery judges who were appointed by Democratic presidents. But wait. It gets better.
It was Democratic Party congressmen who voted in favor of the Fugitive Slave Laws, the Black Codes and other repressive legislation of the era.
At the same time, Democrats opposed:
- the 13th amendment granting freedom to slaves
- the 14th amendment granting citizenship to blacks
- the 15th amendment giving blacks the right to vote
Democrats also opposed:
- the 1866 Civil Rights Act
- the 1867 Reconstruction Act
- the 1870 Force Act
- the 1871 Ku Klux Klan Act
And let us not forget that it was states controlled by Democratic governors, mayors, congressmen and state legislators that opposed the 1964 Civil Rights Act and the 1965 Voting Rights Act.
It was the Democratic Party that opposed Brown vs. Board of Education.
And it pays to remember that of the thousands and thousands of lynchings of black people during the history of this country, MORE THAN 98 PERCENT happened in towns and cities where the local governments were controlled by, and the citizenry were overwhelmingly, Democratic Party members and voters.

If George W. Bush had been the first President to need a teleprompter installed to be able to get through a press conference, would you have laughed and said this is more proof of how inept he is on his own and is really controlled by smarter men behind the scenes?
If George W. Bush had spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to take Laura Bush to a play in NYC, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had reduced your retirement plan's holdings of GM stock by 90% and then given the unions a huge stake in the company for free, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had made a joke at the expense of the Special Olympics, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given Gordon Brown a set of inexpensive and incorrectly formatted DVDs, when Gordon Brown had given him a thoughtful and historically significant gift, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had given the Queen of England an iPod containing videos of his speeches, would you have thought this embarrassingly narcissistic and tacky?
If George W. Bush had bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had visited Austria and made reference to the non-existent "Austrian language," would you have brushed it off as a minor slip?
If George W. Bush had filled his cabinet and circle of advisers with people who cannot seem to keep current in their income taxes, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had been so Spanish illiterate as to refer to "Cinco de Cuatro" in front of the Mexican ambassador when it was the 5th of May (Cinco de Mayo), and then continued to flub it, would you have winced in embarrassment?
If George W. Bush had mis-spelled the word "advice" would you have hammered him for it for years like Dan Quayle and "potatoe" as proof of what a dunce he is?
If George W. Bush had burned 9,000 gallons of jet fuel to go plant a single tree on Earth Day, would you have concluded he's a hypocrite?
If George W. Bush's administration had okayed Air Force One flying low over millions of people followed by a jet fighter in downtown Manhattan causing widespread panic, would you have wondered whether they actually get what happened on 9-11?
If George W. Bush had failed to send relief aid to flood victims throughout the Midwest with more people killed or made homeless than in New Orleans, would you want it made into a major ongoing political issue with claims of racism and incompetence?
If George W. Bush had ordered the firing of the CEO of a major corporation, even though he had no constitutional authority to do so, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had proposed to double the national debt, which had taken more than two centuries to accumulate, in one year, would you have approved?
If George W. Bush had then proposed to double the debt again within 10 years, would you have approved?
So, please tell me again what is it about Obama that makes him so brilliant and impressive? He's done all this in just 8 months.
Makes you proud of your president, doesn't it?

How can state legislators, in ANY state, spend so outlandishly that they run the state $3 billion dollars in the hole EVERY year? Now, Michigan discovers that half of their problem can be paid for by other states (through the federal government) that haven't been so stupid, incompetent, immoral and unethical.
Why are we bailing them out? This makes no sense. Force all states like this to live within their means and they will find ways to do so.

Throughout this fractious summer, I was dismayed not just at the self-defeating silence of Democrats at the gaping holes or evasions in the healthcare bills but also at the fogginess or insipidity of articles and Op-Eds about the controversy emanating from liberal mainstream media and Web sources. By a proportion of something like 10-to-1, negative articles by conservatives were vastly more detailed, specific and practical about the proposals than were supportive articles by Democrats, which often made gestures rather than arguments and brimmed with emotion and sneers. There was a glaring inability in most Democratic commentary to think ahead and forecast what would or could be the actual snarled consequences -- in terms of delays, denial of services, errors, miscommunications and gross invasions of privacy -- of a massive single-payer overhaul of the healthcare system in a nation as large and populous as ours. It was as if Democrats live in a utopian dream world, divorced from the daily demands and realities of organization and management.

At August's town-hall meetings, voters often started with complaints about health care, only to shift to frustrations about all the other things President Barack Obama and the Democrats have done or tried to do since January. The $787 billion economic-stimulus package, the government-led rescue of General Motors Corp. and climate-change legislation all came in for criticism.

Honduras, which despite two months of intense pressure from Washington is still refusing to reinstate Manuel Zelaya, its deposed president. Last week the Obama administration took off the gloves and sent a message that it would use everything it has to break the neck of the Honduran democracy. Its bullying might work. But it will never be able to brag about what it has done.

The once-great Wolverine State is a bucket of woes these days. A bankrupt government. No jobs. High taxes. It's major city an embarrassment. The root cause of all this is beginning to leak out: Michigan voters don't know what the hell they're doing.
The governor is a joke. Detroit's city government is the laughing stock of the country, barely ahead of Washington, D.C. The state legislature is dominated by union goons. Detroit, with its apparent average IQ of 46, has far too much influence over the rest of the state.
And Michigan's representatives in Washington are abysmal.
So-called "representatives" like John Dingell is a good example. That senile old coot was nothing but a hack when I lived in his district 25 years ago and since then he has only gotten worse.

And behind all of these disasters are the Michigan voters. One has to wonder why anyone is their right mind would keep voting for these mental neanderthals.
There's a lot of whining coming from the other end of I-75. If things are this bad with the bureaucrats and legislators they have, why do Michiganders keep electing them?
That's an excellent question when you remember that one classic definition of insanity is to keep doing the same as you have done in the past and expecting a different outcome.

While auto sales are now described by one pundit as "eye-popping," there are fears that the long-term results of the "Cash for Clunkers" program will be bad for the economy as a whole.
All of the money being poured into the purchases of new autos is money, all except for the government hand-out portion, that would go to the purchase of other things.
In addition, the artificial stimulus to the auto industry now, it is feared, will reduce dramatically the number of cars purchased in future years after the give-away expires.

"NY Times: Obama's Economic Ideas Great...Just Like Hitler's Were?" by Warner Todd Huston provides an analysis of the stunning comparison of President Barack Obama to Adolph Hitler made by David Leonhardt in "The New York Times" which is owned by a Jewish family.

In his article, Huston expresses amazement over two equally astonishing facts. First, Leonhardt's admission that Obama is just like Hitler, and second, Leonhardt didn't mean it as an insult. Leonhardt, Huston points out, was saying that it was a good thing that, in an economic sense, Obama was being like Hitler. Huston explains how Leonhardt encourages Americans to ignore World War II and the Holocaust and just focus on how Hitler's polices were good for Germany because Hitler, in essence, made the trains run on time.
With a level of hubris reserved only for Democrats, Leonhardt wrote approvingly about how Obama is emulating Hitler's economic policies with massive "stimulus" spending and the take over of private industry.
Obama, incredibly, provided credence to Leonhardt’s assessment of Obama as being Hitler-like when, with a straight face, Obama looked Americans straight in the eye during his New Hampshire town hall meeting and declared that he has never favored a single-payer health insurance plan. Yet, there is a video of Obama stating, unequivocally, that he does favor a single-payer health insurance plan. Just as deceptive was Obama’s declaration that Senator Johnny Isakson of Georgia was the author of the “end-of-life” language, but Isakson later publicly stated that he had nothing to do with the Democrat-devised legislation.
Democrats expressed no outrage over Lenohardt's favorable comparison of Obama to Hitler. Yet, Democrats reflexively use Hitler references to denigrate average Americans who oppose Obama's government-run health care scheme.

The Democrat’s 1,000-page health care scheme would:
Restrict the enrollment of people with special needs (page 354)
Decide what level of “end-of-life” treatment you receive, according to a pre-determined government-mandated schedule managed by a government “death” panel (page 430)
Build government databases which include your private, personal medical history (page 503)
Work to systematically “increase birth intervals between pregnancies,” opening the very real possibility of forced, tax-payer funded abortions (page 768)
Have the federal government serve as the final, ultimate authority on which health care conditions will be treated, dramatically increasing the likelihood of rationing (page 800).
Average Americans are alarmed by the $1 trillion increase in entitlement spending. They are incensed by the failure by Democrats to explain legislation that would cause 119 million people to lose their private health care insurance and socialize 17 percent of the economy, while leaving 36 million Americans uninsured. Americans understand that what is truly “un-American” is the very idea that 300 million Americans should place their personal health care decisions in the hands of a Democrat-controlled Congress.
Seniors are opposed to the $500 billion cut in medicare and the Government having the right to decide if health care for seniors is worth the cost. Those seniors exercising their freedom of speech at town hall meetings are accused by Democrats of being the kind of people, according to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who go around "carrying swastikas." Closer to the truth is Leonhardt's analysis of Obama's socialist actions, since the word "Nazi" is an acronym for National German Socialist Workers' Party.

If ever there was an example of a totalitarian tactic and an assault on our civil liberties, that White House website is it. Texas Sen. John Cornyn accused the White House of compiling an "enemies list" and asked Obama to halt the collection of information on Americans who are merely exercising their constitutional right to seek from the Government a redress of grievances. Part of the Democrats' orchestrated effort to silence opposition includes accusing protestors of being "un-American" and an "angry mob". An even more troubling aspect is the deployment of union thugs to intimidate and attack protestors. Goons from the SEIU (Service Employees International Union) physically assaulted a black Conservative, Kenneth Gladney, who was handing out "Don't Tread on Me" flags after a town hall meeting in Missouri.
According to "The St. Louis Post-Dispatch", six people were arrested by the St. Louis County police after the Gladney beating -- two on suspicion of assault, one for resisting arrest and three on suspicion of committing peace disturbances. There was no media uproar over the racial slurs, including calling him the “N-word”, hurled at Gladney by the angry mob of liberal Democrats. Thuggish Democrats stomped Gladney, time and again, sending him to the emergency room of the St. John's Mercy Medical Center, where he was treated for injuries to his knee, back, elbow, shoulder and face. The assault on Gladney calls to mind the fact that during the 1960's, Democrats physically attacked Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a Republican, and bombed his home several times because he dared to protest peacefully against the Democrats who were denying civil rights to blacks. Democrat Public Safety Commissioner Eugene "Bull" Conner in Alabama let loose vicious dogs and turned skin-burning fire hoses on black civil rights protestors. In March of 1968, while referring to Dr. King's leaving Memphis, Tennessee after riots broke out where a teenager was killed, Democrat Senator Robert Byrd, a former member of the Ku Klux Klan, called Dr. King a "trouble-maker" who starts trouble, but runs like a coward after trouble is ignited. A few weeks later, Dr. King returned to Memphis and was assassinated on April 4, 1968. The truth about how Americans gave of their lives and treasure to gain freedom for ourselves and others around the globe was not learned by Obama at the feet of his childhood mentor and avowed communist, Frank Marshall Davis, nor in college where Obama was taught by Marxist professors, nor in the church of his anti-American pastor, Rev. Obama's failure to understand that Americans are freedom-loving people is the reason he is blind to the depth of opposition to the universal, single-payer health care scheme that will result in expanded government and a loss of freedom.
