Does any of this sound familiar?
- A moratorium on foreclosures
- Extended unemployment
- Give money to deficit-ridden states
- Enact massive public-works jobs
- Develop "clean energy" projects
- Enact the Employee Free Choice Act
- Enact a National Health Insurance act
- Repeal the Patriot Act
- Withdraw troops from Iraq
- Adopt a foreign policy of "diplomacy and respect"
- Ratify the Kyoto Treaty
- Cut the Pentagon budget in half and close US bases around the world
Unless you understand the resulting legal ramifications, this all might sound good.

Qualms Growing over Obama's Handling of the Economy
By James Raymond Reese on Jul 21, 2009 | In News | Send feedback »
According to a USA Toady/Gallup poll, qualms about President Obama's handling of economic matters are growing. Among other problems for the president, Americans are becoming more pessimistic about when they think the recession will end.
The poll finds:
49% to 47% disapproval of how Obama is handling the economy, a downturn from the 55%-to-42% approval in May. The steepest drop came from Democrats.
50% to 44% disapproval of the Democratic health care policy.
A full 59% majority says Obama's proposals call for too much government spending.
52% say the president's policies call for too much expansion of government power.
Expectations of an economic turnaround are souring. The average prediction for recovery in February was 4.1 years. In the latest poll, the average has grown to 5.5 years.
Obama's stimulus package is now not seen as a benefit by a majority of Americans in either the short term or the long term, and that negative view is the majority viewpoint whether discussing the spending's impact on the nation as a whole or on individuals.
Britain's Version of Obamacare Refuses Liver Transplant. 22-Year-Old Dies.
By James Raymond Reese on Jul 21, 2009 | In News, Commentary | Send feedback »
The American people need to understand that socialized medicine isn't really free medical care. It will cost the government no less than it costs any American family to obtain the same level of care, so the same financial decisions will still have to me made.
People will still die needlessly under Obama's health care plan. The big difference is that more will die because the "rich" (and that classification is beginning to dig into the middle class) will not be allowed to pay for the care the Democrats won't want to give them.
The only thing allowing this proposal to enjoy the acceptance level it now has is the ignorance level of the American population.
One horror story after another is coming out of Great Britain and Canada. Canada, for instance, isn't bothering to diagnose cancer in a lot of cases until the disease is terminal. The Cancer rates in our neighbor to the north with the highly-touted (by Democrats, at least) government-run health care are now 16 percent higher than the rates here in the States.

Code Blue! Code Blue! Obamacare May Be Dying!

The more people learn of health care rationing and the horrendous costs associated with the Democrats' proposals to decide what care everyone will get, the less it is being supported by Americans.

Is the Tide Turning?
By James Raymond Reese on Jul 19, 2009 | In News, Commentary | Send feedback »
So now a majority of Americans think Barack Obama is leading the United States in "the wrong direction." What a surprise that is.
Actually, the real surprise is that this "dead on" article appeared in Sunday's Washington Post.
Yep, the Washington Post.
Are people finally waking up to what this man's extreme agenda is?
Gordon Waller, of Peter and Gordon, Dies. Peter Asher Comments on His Friend's Death.
By James Raymond Reese on Jul 19, 2009 | In News | Send feedback »
Gordon Waller, half of the 1960s singing duo Peter and Gordon, died suddenly Friday morning of cardiac arrest.
Singing partner Peter Asher spoke about his friend:
“Gordon played such a significant role in my life that losing him is hard to comprehend – let alone to tolerate. He was my best friend at school almost half a century ago. He was not only my musical partner but played a key role in my conversion from only a snooty jazz fan to a true rock and roll believer as well. Without Gordon I would never have begun my career in the music business in the first place. Our professional years together in the sixties constitute a major part of my life and I have always treasured them.”
He went on, “We remained good friends even while we were pursuing entirely separate professional paths and I was so delighted that after a hiatus of almost forty years we ended up singing and performing together again more recently for the sheer exhilarating fun of it. We had a terrific time doing so.”
“Gordon remains one of my very favorite singers of all time and I am still so proud of the work that we did together. I am just a harmony guy and Gordon was the heart and soul of our duo.”
“I shall miss him in so many different ways. The idea that I shall never get to sing those songs with him again, that I shall never again be able to get annoyed when he interrupts me on stage or to laugh at his unpredictable sense of humour or even to admire his newest model train or his latest gardening effort is an unthinkable change in my life with which I have not even begun to come to terms.”

The Five Best Sentences You Will Ever Read
By James Raymond Reese on Jul 18, 2009 | In News, Commentary | 8 feedbacks »
I wish I had said this.
These are probably the 5 best sentences you'll ever read.
This is one paragraph that should be in every book, in every school room, in every city, in every state, in our great Union. Our educators should make a lesson plan on this one paragraph and beat these words into every head, in every class, in every state, in these United States of
America.
But, of course, they won't. Our so-called "educators" don't believe a word of this.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
I Once Wanted a CTS. Please Notice the Past Tense of That Verb.
.
Pontiac is going out of existence. Hummer has been sold to China. Saturn has been sold and they're trying unload Saab but can't find a buyer yet. Opel and Vauxhall have been sold to a Canadian-Russian company.
The international operations of "the new GM" will all run out of China.
The new, US government and UAW-owned General Motors Company keeps all of the money from the brand sales. The old company's stockholders really get screwed. They get to keep only 16 abandoned plants (some of them contaminated) and a small 9-hole golf course in New Jersey. And after that has been sold off there won't be enough to even pay off the creditors. The stock those people invested in is worth zero.
I just can't yet bring myself to buy a car from a company run by government idiots and union idiots, a company who treats its own citizen-investors like this.
I don't think I want a CTS anymore.
House Democrats Who Aren't Actual Socialists and Commies Appear Ready to Stop Obama's Health Care Plan
By James Raymond Reese on Jul 16, 2009 | In News, Commentary | Send feedback »
Don't look now but it is several Democrats in the House of Representatives who appear ready and able to stop Obama's "obamanation" of a health care nightmare from being rammed down the throats of Americans.
It has been said that the only thing allowing evil to occur is for good people to do nothing. Maybe some of the good people are finally going to act.
The Sky Is Falling; the Sky Is Falling!!
By James Raymond Reese on Jul 16, 2009 | In News, Commentary | Send feedback »
Link: http://www.rollingstone.com/politics/story/29127316/the_great_american_bubble_machine
Oh, my God! Even the lefties at Rolling Stone magazine are beginning to get the picture. They aren't connecting all the dots yet, though. I suspect by the time that happens it will be too late for the United States and the rest of the world.
We are just now beginning to see the first breaths of the final stage of EXACTLY what some people have been warning us about for decades. This isn't capitalism failing, this is the major banks draining the world with the help of their "willing fools."
The first handful of sentences of this article prove they can now control the political power of several important nations. The first step of the takeover is to put power into the hands of government instead of the people. That is done by getting a certain kind of person into high positions in government. Use words like "liberal" and "progressive" to convince people to slowly give up their rights. We now have a congress full of these people (and one in the White House) who have been called "willing fools." They bought the crap that big government is better than freedom.
Once the governments of the world have grabbed control, the boom gets lowered by fostering a major world-wide economic collapse.
The only country keeping this from happening sooner has been the United States. Now that Americans have given up their liberties, all the pieces can fall into place.
This plan has been on the table for longer than I have been alive but every time someone would "cry wolf," they were shouted down or made fun of as a bunch of right-wing crazies.
We have not been vigilant.
And now the sky really is falling.
It looks like the Detroit News has caught on. They actually use the word "Marxist" in referring to Obama's policies. I wonder how long it will take the rest of the media to figure it out.
America's Small Businesses are Seething over the So-Called "Climate Change" Bill
By James Raymond Reese on Jul 8, 2009 | In News, Commentary | Send feedback »
Link: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/07/07/small-businesses-irate-climate-change/
Those of you who have read my postings in various places over the years are well aware of my feelings that all of this "climate change" nonsense has nothing to do with the climate or the environment. It's all about control.
Now, the idiots in Washington are going to put a lot of America's small businesses out of business. Unfortunately, these are the people who have created most of the jobs in this country.
Well, we were promised "change," we're we?
My take on all this? We ain't seen nothin' yet.
